Here you will find courses we’ve compiled that can help boost your GPA. We have found these courses to be easy in regards to the course content, workload or both. Though all courses will affect overall GPA, they are categorized by specific science GPA or non-science GPA that you may want to target depending on your future goals (see GPA page for details). Also, keep in mind that these are based on our experiences. Course content and difficulty may have changed and are subjective. For more information, look up each course syllabi (link).

geol 1302: Introduction to Global Climate Change

3 Credit Hours. Covers global climate change using models and climate records to help give a better understanding of the future climate change.

IDNS 1102 - Physics Workshop

1 Credit Hour. Can be taken each time PHYS 1302 is taken and must be taken concurrently with lecture. Workshop covers concepts covered in lecture and provides practice problems, practice exams, and study strategies to supplement learning in lecture.

 

GEOL 1330: Physical Geology

3 Credit Hours. Covers the principles of geology and emphasizes the surface and internal processes of the Earth.

GEOL 1340: Introduction to Earth Systems

3 Credit Hours. Introduces Earth's dynamic systems with emphasis on the interactions between the atmosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere.

KIN 1304: Public Health Issues in Physical Activity and Obesity

3 Credit Hours. Examines effects of obesity and physical activity on disease risk.

 

KIN 1352: Foundations of Kinesiology, Health, and Fitness

3 Credit Hours. Introduces the historical backgrounds of the kinesiology field, health field, and fitness. Students will assess fitness levels.

SOC 1300: Introduction to Sociology

3 Credit Hours. Students will be introduced to major theories, methods and findings dealing with the study of societies, institutions, organizations, and groups.

HLT 1353: Personal Health

3 Credit Hours. In this course, students will evaluate how scientific facts and principles are applied to healthful living and the prevention of disease.

 

HDFS 1300: Development of Contemporary Families

3 Credit Hours. Students will integrate historical, psychological, and sociological disciplines to study and understand the diversity in family forms and influences.

HDFS 1311: Development of Self-Regulated Learning

3 Credit Hours. Students will learn theory and research on the cognitive, motivational, and behavioral factors related to academic success.

 

HDFS 2317: Introduction to Human Development and Intervention

3 Credit Hours. Students will use an integration approach of biological, psychological, and cultural disciplines to the study of life-span human development.

SPAN 1501: Elementary Spanish I

5 Credit Hours. Coursework covers basic oral, listening, reading and writing skills in Spanish.
